Due to the toxic chemicals generally contained in fragrance products, we choose to be fragrance free for ourselves, our families and our patients. We ask that you respect this and do not wear perfume or scented body care products when attending the clinic. For more explanation read our article on Multi Chemical Sensitivity. Our cleaning company is using eco-friendly, non-toxic and biodegradable cleaning products to service our premises.
Formulations may be prescribed that will require a script to be completed at a compounding chemist. The price of these supplements will be based on the chemists own pricing and should be quoted by them to you before confirming your order. Depending on their location, they typically send in the post, but you may be able to arrange pick up.
If you have any questions on the above, your Patient Advocate will be available to support you through the process.
For supplements and nutraceuticals, in particular ‘practitioner only supplements,’ your Patient Advocate can, without any obligation, help you to place an order for them through one of our online suppliers. You will then receive your supplement through Australian post within a few days.
When the online platforms have the option, we will set up a 10% discount in your favour. The residual margin or rebate will be directed towards our Next Aid, Care4Care charity and financial support initiatives.
To see which days the different practitioners are available, please refer to “book an appointment” for each practitioner. The days they are available at Next Practice - GenBiome is indicated below their name.
If you are experiencing acute symptoms and have a medical emergency, please call ‘000’. Next Practice - GenBiome is not an acute care clinic.
Your practitioner may deem it necessary to refer you to another practitioner or specialist in order to help support and manage your condition as part of a more comprehensive program. This may be to other experts within or outside of Next Practice GenBiome. Any suggested referrals will be discussed and provided during your consultation.
The most efficient way to communicate with us is via email (genbiome.pa@nextpracticehealth.com). Please inform your Patient Advocate if the matter is urgent. Of course for real emergencies, please call ‘000’.
Most issues are best dealt with during your consultation with your doctor or practitioner. Your Patient Advocate will also be regularly communicating with you in between appointments to provide support with your treatment plan. Therefore you can let her know if you are experiencing any problems, in which case they will either assist you directly or speak to your practitioner for you as soon as possible.
If you require a longer discussion on any treatment decisions or additional pathology, these will be done during a consultation and your Patient Advocate will advise you to make an appointment.
If you are experiencing problems with undertaking any part your treatment plan - such as alterations in your diet, or supplements, or medication, we expect you to contact your Patient Advocate so that we can help you rectify any difficulties.
Nutrition is a complementary health modality that aims to achieve optimal health through diet, nutrients and lifestyle. Our Nutritionists use a very holistic approach that aims to treat the root cause, not just the symptoms.
During an initial Nutrition consult the Nutritionist will take a detailed health history and review any pathology results. This will help identify areas of your health that require further attention and support. The Nutritionist will gather detailed information about your diet, lifestyle and environment to help understand contributing factors. At the conclusion of the consult you will have an individualised treatment plan with dietary and lifestyle advice, tailored to your requirements. You may also be prescribed nutritional supplements to support your treatment.
A follow-up appointment will usually occur 2-4 weeks after your initial appointment and is a chance to check in to assess what did and didn’t work. You may be required to complete an electronic diet diary, which will then allow the Nutritionist to produce a detailed dietary analysis to discuss at your follow up appointment.
A nutritionist can work with a number of conditions including:
A Health Coach creates a supportive environment for patients to make lasting and effective change to reach their health goals. When faced with chronic and complex health conditions, it can be challenging to know where to start in making lifestyle changes. A Health Coach will help simplify, prioritise and support you in making those changes and overcome obstacles. Functional medicine health coaching helps to ensure that the functional medicine treatment plan is being successfully implemented, and that time between doctors appointments is productively managed.
A Health Coaching Session will follow a structured format, starting with assessing what your health goals are and areas of focus. The Health Coach will then work collaboratively with the patient to establish the steps needed to reach each goal. They will ask you a series of questions, listen to you and help identify your innate strengths to be able to make lasting and effective change. At the conclusion of your session you will have a clear action plan of the next steps to take in your health journey.
An Onboarding Session is part of your induction at the clinic and assists in integrating you as a patient of Next Practice - GenBiome. This is an integral part of a nutritional and functional medicine assessment, which takes the time to learn about your case history and understand your health journey. This allows us to support you more and allows us to help you find a deeper understanding of the root causes of your health concerns.
During an Onboarding Session with a Patient Advocate, they will help you to complete the detailed onboarding form in the clinic, discuss your personal health goals, show you around the clinic and explain the modalities available whilst also showing you what might be involved in your program. Your body measurements will be taken including pulse oximetry, capnography, blood pressure, heart rate, body mass indices and waist-hip measurements. The Patient Advocate will help you set up your own patient app and supply you with any relevant initial educational materials.
This Onboarding Session is an opportunity to get to know your Patient Advocate who will be there to support you on your health journey and future appointments, as well as supply us with any existing pathology tests, lists of current medications and/or supplements. It gives us the chance to answer any of your initial questions, ensure that our philosophy is right for you and helps us set you up for success on your health journey with Dr Yeoh and the team.
We accept new patients. To book your new patient consultation please start by completing this enquiry form - New Patient Enquiry form.
Once an initial appointment has been scheduled with one of our practitioners, you will be required to provide a detailed intake form as well as the information relating to your medical history at least one week prior to your initial appointment. This is to ensure there is enough time for our clinical team to integrate and discuss your case prior to your appointment.
For a consultation with Dr Yeoh, Dr Savage, Dr Moore, Dr Turtle or as part of our multi-disciplinary team approach, you will also be required to go through an onboarding session prior to your initial consultation.
Please also note that there is currently a waitlist to see Dr Christabelle Yeoh and she is only seeing new patients under the Next Level Care model as outlined here.
Please note that if your case history is complex, you would not expect to have a full treatment plan at the very first appointment. However, we are likely to start providing you with education and some general guidance until such time your investigation results are finalised.
Next Practice - Care of GenBiome accepts all patients who are self referrals or referred from another practitioner. You do not need a referral letter. All appointments are booked online via https://nextpracticehealth.com/booking?location=nsw-edgecliff for all practitioners and consultations.
GenBiome provides focused care and is not a General Practice. We do not see patients on a walk in basis. Patients who wish to see a doctor at Next Practice - GenBiome are encouraged to have a regular GP for their regular medical needs.
Your practitioner will let you know the suggested follow up intervals and your appointments can be booked accordingly. These can be done for you with your Patient Advocate before you leave the clinic, or by yourself at home through the online booking system. Depending on the type of follow up or therapy, please also take note on the length of follow up that you need.
When booking a new patient consultation with another practitioner, please ensure that you arrive 30 minutes prior to your initial consultation to fill in the new patient on-boarding form and get yourself acquainted with the clinic. On your arrival, a patient advocate will assist you in filling in the form via the companion app.
