RBA bans surcharging on card transactions from 1 October 2026

1% fee increase from 1st October

From 1 October 2026, following changes introduced by the RBA, businesses will no longer be permitted to add surcharges to card payments. Accordingly, these payment-processing costs will be incorporated into our consultation and service prices through a 1% increase, rather than charged separately. This is consistent with consumers’ preference for advertised prices to be all-inclusive.
